For the first time, the Central Wisconsin Book Festival welcomes New York Times bestselling author Jennifer Chiaverini for a reading of her new novel!
Jennifer will join us at the Marathon County Historical Society to share her new novel Switchboard Soldiers, published in July 2022, which is a fictional account of a very real groundbreaking group of women who served in the U.S. Army Signal Corps. With their experience as former telephone operators, the women served a vital role connecting calls in multiple languages – sometimes classified, sometimes as bombs fell around them – for Allied forces during WWI.
Not only is Jennifer an internationally bestselling author of 32 novels and more nonfiction, she also calls Wisconsin home, so the CWBF is excited to host this event with an acclaimed and popular “local” author! (Yes, we consider pretty much all of Wisconsin to be local.) Bring your questions and copies of her books for the signing, and copies of the new novel will also be available.
Free and open to the public, no registration required. Call MCPL Wausau at 715-261-7235 for more information.
