Description
10 Fat Quarters from “Elm Creek Quilts: The Winding Ways Quilt Collection” by Jennifer Chiaverini. 100% cotton woven fabric from Red Rooster Fabrics. Limited Quantities Available.
Jennifer’s collection coincides with the publication of her thirteenth novel in the Elm Creek Quilts Series, The Winding Ways Quilt. Her fabric designs relate to the journeys and experiences of the founding members of the Elm Creek Quilters, characters depicted in her novel. Judy is leaving the Elm Creek Quilters for a wonderful new job opportunity in Philadelphia. Jennifer tells us, ”The tortoise and crane are national symbols of Vietnam, the nation of Judy’s birth. The apple blossom prints were chosen because the orchard is a significant location in the novel. Visitors to Elm Creek Manor wander through it when they need time for quiet reflection, and for Bonnie (whose quilt shop was destroyed by vandals) it plays an important symbolic role as over time she watches buds form on bare branches and eventually bear fruit, reminding her that patience and endurance will be rewarded.” In addition to these designs, there’s a crisp plaid, twining vines, a circular pattern suggesting baby rattles for Sarah, a tie-dye burst for Gwen, and a Winding Ways quilt pattern.
